Where is the virtual browse feature and how does it work?
Answer
The library's catalog has a virtual browse feature that will let you look at books shelved next to the book you are looking at in the catalog online. After you click on a record in the library catalog, you can scroll to the bottom of the page and you will find the Virtual Browse section:
When you find the Virtual Browse section, you can use the arrows on either side to scroll through different Titles that are in the same subject and call number range. If you hover your mouse over one of the books, a pop-up box will appear with the title information and a call number:
If you want to know more about a resource, including where the resource is located at, you can click on it and you will be taken to the catalog record.
It is important to remember that the virtual browse feature will display similar materials in the same subject or within the same call number, and they may not always be in the same shelving location. Some materials listed may be an electronic resource or they could be located at Offsite Storage.
