How can the library assist me with my thesis, dissertation, and other research assignments?

Answer

The library is prepared to support graduate students with any research need, including thesis and dissertation research support.

  1. You can schedule a Research Consultation with a subject librarian who can assist you with developing a topic for your paper, effective methods for searching databases relevant to your paper, and find resources for your research. Consultations can be especially helpful for assisting graduate students with thesis and dissertation development.

  2. You can view online resources or seek assistance from a librarian about how to cite your sources properly, including how to use Endnote, a citation management software that organizes your sources and creates citations. The library also has a Citation & Style Guides for additional resources in citation styles and formatting.

  3. You can explore databases focused on other theses and dissertations created around the globe or specifically those produced by students at UNC Charlotte. You can also explore UNC Charlotte theses and dissertations through Niner Commons.

  4. You can view the Graduate Resources subject guide for information curated specifically to assist graduate students with their research, and you can contact the subject librarian that specializes in Graduate School assistance. You can also utilize our other research guides to find resources for a specific subject or course.
