Can instructors select material for class instruction?

Answer

Faculty and Graduate Student Instructors (IORs) can place physical items and electronic resources on reserve for a class. These resources or materials can be items owned by the instructor or that the library owns. You can also browse our Faculty eTextbook Database for course textbooks that are free to use and allow unlimited user access.

If the library does not own an item, you can request that we purchase it for you to place on reserve for your course. However, we cannot guarantee that the library will
purchase print copies of assigned textbooks for specific classes.

For more information on how to place materials on reserve for your course, you can visit the Course Reserves information page.
