What is Interlibrary Loan? (ILL)

Answer

Interlibrary Loan is a free service offered to current UNC Charlotte students, faculty, and staff. If the Library doesn’t have something you’re looking for, or the book you want is checked out, Interlibrary Loan (ILL) can try to get it for you from another library. Just place a request through the online catalog or the ILL system.

You can also place requests for scans of individual book chapters and journal articles with our Document Delivery service. The Interlibrary Loan team can scan portions of materials (up to 35 pages) and email them to you in PDF form. If our library does not own the materials you want scanned, ILL will send a request out for another library to fulfill it.

You can visit the Interlibrary Loan webpage for more information.
